Millen, GA (April 23, 2024) – At the request of the Millen Police Department, GBI agents are investigating the death of Robert Lamar Herrington, age 39, of Millen, Georgia.

The investigation shows Millen Police Department officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting on Corbett Street in Millen, Georgia. When officers arrived, they found Herrington suffering from gunshot wounds. Herrington was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second man was also shot in the incident and went to a local hospital for treatment. He was later life-flighted to a hospital in Augusta, Georgia where he is currently listed in stable condition.

Preliminary information indicates that Herrington and the other man who was shot were involved in an earlier argument which escalated and resulted in them shooting each other.

Herrington’s body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab where a medical examiner will perform an autopsy.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
