Thomson, GA (February 14, 2024) – The GBI has arrested and charged Ra’Quan Reese, age 23, of Warrenton, GA, and Sherkendria Duggans, age 22, of Thomson, GA, with felony murder and aggravated assault charges, in McDuffie County, Georgia. On February 11, 2024, the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to investigate the shooting death of Otekqueonna Williams, age 21, of Thomson, GA. 

The investigation shows that during the early morning hours of Sunday, February 11, 2024, an argument took place between two groups of people in the 100 block of McCommons Street in Thomson, GA. At some point during the argument, people from both groups fired shots at the other group. Williams and a woman from Warrenton, GA, were both shot. Williams died at a local hospital and the woman was taken to a hospital in Augusta for treatment for her injuries. The investigation indicates that neither Williams nor the injured woman were involved in the argument.    

Reese and Duggans are currently booked at the McDuffie County Jail.
