On Monday evening, March 23, 2009, the GBI Region 2 office in Columbus along with the Taylor County Sheriff's Office and Talbot County Sheriff's Office arrested ERIC RILEY, 35 yoa, at his residence, 186 Beagle Road, Box Springs, Georgia. RILEY has been charged with Concealing a Death (Felony) and Tampering with Evidence (Felony) in connection with the death of Lashon Lee Douglas, Jr. of Snellville, Ga. The body of Douglas was found in a dumpster in rural Taylor County on Wednesday, March 18, 2009.

Investigators learned RILEY was an associate of Douglas and had contact with Douglas the weekend prior to the discovery of the body. RILEY was arrested after investigators served a search warrant at his residence.  

An autopsy of Douglas was conducted by the GBI Medical Examiner's Office and no immediate cause of death has been determined at this time. Toxicology results are still pending. The pending autopsy results are the basis for the current charges against RILEY.  Upon receiving the final autopsy results, the results will be reviewed to determine if additional criminal charges will be filed against RILEY. RILEY is currently being held at the Taylor County Jail.
