OGLETHORPE, GA - On Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at approximately 5:30 p.m., accused murderer, Cordalero L. Collier (22 years old), was captured and taken into custody in Fulton County Georgia, without incident.  Collier’s capture was the result of a collaborative effort of many law enforcement agencies and the US Marshals Service, Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (Macon Office), who had been requested to assist in this investigation. 

On Saturday, August 15, 2009, Special Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were notified that Collier had escaped, from the Macon County Jail (Oglethorpe, Ga), and were requested to respond. Collier had been charged with the Murder of Shanika Walker in August 2008, and was awaiting trial.  The investigation into Collier’s escape is ongoing.   

During the investigation, concerned citizens throughout the state of Georgia provided law enforcement officers with information that aided in the capture of Collier.
