GBI Investigates Child Molestation in Warren County, GA
Warrenton, Warren County, Georgia- May 8, 2018
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding the report of child molestation, which occurred on this same date. At approximately 7:00 p.m., Warren County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the GBI Region 7 Office regarding the child molestation investigation. GBI and Warren County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted interviews reference this investigation. The 10 year old victim was interviewed the following day, May 9, 2018, at the Child Advocacy Center in Thomson, McDuffie County, Georgia, where the child disclosed they were touched in a sexual manner by, Jonathan Gilbert Wiederaenders, age 68.
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Wiederaender was interviewed and arrested for Child Molestation. Wiederaender was transported to the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
