Arrest in Richmond Hill Death Investigation

Richmond Hill, GA – On Sunday, January 14, 2018, Jeremiah Joel Watkins, 32, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and charged with murder for the death of his wife, Breona Watkins, 29.  Jeremiah Joel Watkins turned himself in to the Hinesville Police Department and is now being held at the Bryan County Jail.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information is asked to call the GBI Statesboro office at (912) 871-1121.

Richmond Hill, GA – On Sunday, January 14, 2018, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) responded to the scene of a homicide at the request of the Richmond Hill Police Department.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers with the Richmond Hill Police Department were dispatched to Plantation Apartments, located at 201 Casey Drive in Richmond Hill regarding gunshots.  Upon arrival, officers found a female had been shot.  EMS responded and transported her to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA where she died from her injuries.

The GBI is asking anyone with information about this investigation or who may have seen any suspicious activity or persons in the area of Plantation Apartments, 201 Casey Dr., Richmond Hill, Bryan County, GA to contact the GBI at (912) 871-1121 or the Richmond Hill Police Department at (912) 756-5645.
