September 29, 2014

Fort Valley, GA. – The Fort Valley Police Department requested the GBI’s assistance with a death and aggravated assault investigation early on Saturday morning.  Demontarius Quin Lewis, 23, was shot and killed at a party in Fort Valley between 1:30 and 2:30 AM Saturday, September 27.  The party was at the Olde English apartments, 901 Orange Street.  Lewis was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Initial reports are that numerous shots were fired during the party.  As partygoers fled the area, Darrell Cullens, 21, was struck by an unknown motorist and had to be transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.  Investigators are trying to determine if the hit and run is related to the shooting.  The GBI and Fort Valley Police continue to investigate the incident.  No arrests have been made at this time.

The agencies are currently attempting to locate a silver Ford Mustang with a black canvas top.  Investigators need to interview the occupants of this vehicle who they believe witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the silver Mustang is asked to call the GBI Perry office at 478-987-4545.
