On Tuesday, February 16, 2016 the Moultrie Police Department responded to two separate shootings in the Southwest section of Moultrie.

At approximately 3:10 p.m. the Moultrie Police Department (MPD) responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of 7th Street S.W in Moultrie.  Upon arrival, the body of Ryshaun Montay Bigelow, age 23, was found in the roadway.  Bigelow had multiple gunshot wounds.

At approximately 4:05 p.m. MPD officers responded to another shooting in the 100 block of 4th Street S.W. There officers found Darian Williams, age 25, also with multiple gunshot wounds.  Williams was air-lifted to Macon, GA for medical treatment.  Williams is presently in stable condition.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation offices in Thomasville and Sylvester are assisting in the investigation of both shootings, as is the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office. It is undetermined at this time if the two shootings are connected.
