Dallas, GA - On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, the GBI’s Calhoun Regional Office was requested by the Dallas Police Department to investigate an officer involved shooting that resulted in the arrest of Jennifer Autry, age 31.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, Dallas Officer J.D. Johnson responded to 106 St. Charles Avenue, Dallas, GA in regards to a suspicious person.  A female later identified as Jennifer Autry, age 31, was seen by a neighborhood complainant attempting to gain entry into a residence through a partially open garage door.  Officer Johnson encountered Autry at 106 St. Charles Avenue where she produced a long gun and pointed at Officer Johnson.  Officer Johnson fired at Autry but Autry was not struck by any rounds.  Officer Johnson was not injured during this incident. 

Autry was taken into custody and charged with Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Loitering, and Prowling.

The GBI will conduct an independent investigation to determine what occurred during the incident. When the investigation is complete, it will be turned over to the District Attorney for judicial review.
