Albany, GA – On July 12, 2015, the GBI was requested by Dougherty County Sheriff Kevin Sproul to investigate allegations that Dougherty County School Police Assistant Chief Theotis Gervin inappropriately obtained and used an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card for personal gain.  At the recommendation of District Attorney Greg Edwards, arrest warrants were issued for Gervin on charges of Financial Transaction Card Fraud and Violation of Oath of Office. On August 25, 2015, GBI agents and Dougherty County Deputies arrested Gervin who was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
