The Bartow County Sheriff's Office arrested Michelle Brooks-Powell on Saturday, July 30.  

April Brown was arrested the morning of August 1 in Atlanta based on a tip that came to the GBI’s Regional Office in Calhoun.　 The GBI passed on to the Department of Revenue the information given by in the tipster about Brown’s location. 　

DECATUR, GA. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation in an investigative effort with the Georgia Department of Revenue, and United States Secret Service seeks the arrest of Michelle Brooks-Powell and April Nicole Brown for several counts of Theft by Taking and Forgery 1st Degree.  Together, both women are responsible for cashing approximately $170,000.00 combined in federal and state tax refund checks at a check cashing business located in Acworth, Bartow County.
