Northeast Georgia Banks Offer $6,000 Reward

HIAWASSEE, GA - A group of Northeast Georgia banks are offering a $6,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in four branch bank robberies in Rabun and Towns Counties in the past 18 months.  The most recent robbery occurred the afternoon of October 23 at a Stephens Federal Bank branch in Hiawassee. The banks offering the reward are The Bank of Hiawassee, Mountain Heritage Bank, Regions Bank, Rabun County Bank, Stephens Federal Bank, and United Community Bank.

Anyone with information on these robberies should call either the Hiawassee Police Department at 706-896 2203, or the GBI Tip line at 1-800-597-8477.
