The GBI’s highest profile jobs are Special Agent, Narcotics Agent, and Crime Lab Scientist. These jobs require a four-year college degree. Watch the GBI website for current vacancy announcements regarding these jobs.
Internship opportunities are available for students interested in a criminal justice related career. Students must be full-time juniors or seniors or first-year graduate students in an accredited four-year college or university.
Technical and specialized positions include forensic computer specialists, criminal intelligence analysts, and fingerprint specialists. Educational requirements vary, but most GBI positions require a four-year college degree.
The GBI also offers employment opportunities in administrative and support positions, including careers in Human Resources, Finance, and Facilities Management, as well as positions in administrative office support.
