2002 Georgia Bingo Annual Report
During calendar year 2002, 258 nonprofit organizations were licensed to conduct bingo games in Georgia with approximately 13,107 approved bingo workers/officers.
Gross receipts for all licensees totaled $31,172,684 in 2002, which was a 7.1% increase over 2001 receipts of $29,122,272. The highest gross receipts by any single license holder totaled $364,998 in 2002, which was a 12.8% increase over 2001 receipts of $318,222. The average gross receipts were $123,701.
Prizes awarded to players totaled $19,927,950 or 63.9% of gross receipts as compared to $18,546,302 or 63.7% in 2001.
Charitable donations reported by all licensees amounted to $1,225,989 or 3.9% of gross receipts in 2002 as compared to $1,123,178 or 3.9% in 2001.
Expenses reported by licensees to run bingo games totaled $7,144,098 in 2002 or 22.9% of receipts.
Net proceeds reported by licensees after pay-out of prizes, game expenses and reported donations, totaled $2,976,143 in 2002 or 9.5% of gross bingo receipts.
